Policy and Commitment

- Wolves publicly report carbon emissions and energy data as part of the Annual Report and Financial Statement. The most recent Annual Report, published in in March 2023, included voluntarily disclosure of Scope 3 emissions data (inc. fan. travel)
- 2021/22 season emissions were 13,042 tCO2e

- Wolves is a signatory to UN Sports for Climate Action Framework (from March 2023) with targets of 50% emissions reduction by 2030 and net zero by 2040
Clean/Renewable Energy
- 100% renewable energy across all sites (Sport Positive verified)
Energy Efficiency
- Wolves have been working with Hospitality Energy Savings (HES) for over 5 years to deliver a systemic energy and water management programme across the club (eg. Building Management Systems optimisation, PIRs, extensive LED lighting replacements including floodlights, site surveys, post-match closedown process, staff training, installation and analysis of submetering data, HVAC timed controls) Report shared with Sport Positive
- HES prepare an annual ‘Energy & Water Performance Update’ which outlines monthly performance, compares to previous years and outlines recent energy and water management activities, and there is extensive half-hourly submtering which is captured withn a central data portal
Sustainable Transport
- Wolves provide a ‘Wolves Journey Planner‘ in partnership with Moovit, the world’s number 1 urban mobility app, which is a multi-modal web journey planner allowing fans and staff to easily plan all parts of their journey, using a mixture of public transport, shared mobility and active travel
- Club have introduced a range of schemes to incentivise sustainable staff travel, including an Electric Car scheme and a Cycle to Work scheme
- Earlier in 2022, Wolves engaged more than 1,000 fans through a fan value survey on environmental sustainability, the results of which were published in an article online. - The survey found that over 70% of fans currently travel to Molineux by car, with around 25% of fans taking either the train, bus, coach or metro, and only 5% choosing to walk or cycle
- For those who travelled to away fixtures, over half usually go by train, bus or coach.
Single Use Plastic Reduction/Removal
- Catering across Wolves is delivered by Levy UK, who have a well-established sustainability campaign, ‘A recipe for change’
- A targeted reduction of as many single-use plastics as possible has been undertaken, including straws, cutlery and sauce sachets
- Alternatives to single-use plastic cups have been trialled and are being introduced, while draught-only bars are being introduced throughout the stadium to eliminate plastic beer bottle waste
- One of the One Pack, One Planet commitments is focused on Waste – We will embrace a circular economy, minimising waste, and maximising reuse
Waste Management
- At least 85% of all waste is recycled by our waste management company after being put through their waste segregation programme at their state-of-the-art recycling plant
- The other 15% currently goes to landfill
- Wolves have strengthened their relationship with Reconomy Group, the global tech-led provider of circular economy-focused services, who have become a sustainability partner
- Kit across the club (retail, first team, academy) which is leftover or unsold stock is donated via Wolves Foundation, eg. to community projects, children’s parties, armed forces and overseas

Water Efficiency

Plant based/low carbon food
- Catering across Wolves is delivered by Levy UK, who have a well-established sustainability campaign, ‘A recipe for change’
- There are always plant-based options available on both concourse and hospitality menus, with reduced meat content in products, red meat sourced locally (UK) and seasonally sourced menus
- Some examples of plant based food available on concourses includes:
- Bombay Potato Pie – 29/32 kiosks
- Spicy Bean Roll – 29/32 kiosks
- Vegan Dog – 3/32 kiosks – new item we are trialling
- Nachos – standard serving of nacho has cheese but this can be removed for an addition option, we offer a vegan chilli topping for these also. – 3/32 kiosks
- Example hospitality plant-based menu option:Butternut Squash and Lentil Wellington, Bubble and Squeak Potato Terrine, Baby Vegetables, Rich Tomato Sauce
- Klimato carbon labelling on menus has been introduced
Biodiversity
- One of the One Pack, One Planet commitments is focused on Nature – We will protect our natural environment and support a wilder future
- The training ground redevelopment in 2014 included planting 1000s of trees, the creation of a wetland pond and maintaining value of existing perimeter habitat, hedgerows and mature trees. It now has a 1-2m wide habitat corridor made up of trees, hawthorne hedgerows and grass areas which is broadly left unmanaged for nature, and abuts the Smestow Valley Local Nature Reserve
- In March 2022 and 2023, Wolves marked World Wildlife Day by removing the iconic wolf from the club’s crest for one day, part of a WWF ‘World Without Nature’ capmaign to highlight the dramatic loss of biodiversity globally
Education

Communication and Engagement

- Wolves launched ‘One Pack, One Planet’ an environmental sustainability programme on Green Football Weekend, with activations both online and at Molineux for the fixture against Liverpool including a 20% discount on vegan food, wearing green armbands, One Pack, One Planet branding around the stadium screens to engage fans
- Earlier in 2022, Wolves engaged more than 1,000 fans through a fan value survey on environmental sustainability, the results of which were published in an article online
- The Wolves Foundation have partnered with Planet League, encouraging young fans to take green lifestyle actions
Sustainable Procurement
- A ‘Supplier Delivery Manual’ is in place which sets out packaging requirements for retail suppliers, including references to the use of recycled and recyclable materials. One supplier has introduced 100% recycled CPE poly bags in packaging.
