SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT
- Public transport advocated, as well as walking and cycling
- Introduced ‘Cycle to Work’ incentive scheme and offer mileage for anyone wishing to use a bicycle for work purposes
SINGLE USE PLASTIC REDUCTION/REMOVAL
- Removed all plastic straws and cutlery from sites
- Introducing re-usable pint cups on the concourse & in Fanzone
- Started to remove drinks contained in plastic bottles from St Mary’s, in process of reducing plastic water bottles from training ground
- Removed sachets of sauce from operation and are using more sustainable re-usable dispensers
- Positive results from initiatives with food suppliers on reducing the amount of packaging
- Using napkins made from 100% recyclable materials that are compostable
WASTE MANAGEMENT
- Committed to ensure waste is reduced, carrying out a review of waste management (Aug 2019)
WATER USE
- Currently reviewing water usage with an external specialist
- Currently in the process of reviewing the use of water fountains within our concourse areas – with a water refilling service already available at our kiosks
- Nine hydration stations have been installed across our training ground site
PLANT BASED/LOW CARBON FOOD
- Vegan Hot Dogs and burgers with Non-Gluten bread available on the concourse
- All suites have vegan menu options
COMMUNICATION/ENGAGEMENT
- Formed ‘Saints Sustainability’
- Signed up to Southampton City Council’s Green City Charter
- No sustainability or environment page on website but some club news coverage
