Policy and Commitment
- The club has an internal Environmental and Sustainability Policy.
- QPR advises that it is the only club in the UK to be part of the United Nations Football for the Goals initiative.
- Is an EFL Green Clubs member.
Clean/Renewable Energy
- 40.4% of the electricity supplied to the club is from renewable fuel sources.
- The new training ground has solar panels for renewable energy.
Energy Efficiency
- Is ESOS compliant with audits undertaken in 2015 and 2019. Phase three is set to be completed in 2023.
- A number of toilets in the offices, stadium and some of the circulation spaces have PIR sensors. Some circulation spaces have LED fittings.
- Replaced boilers in 2019 to increase efficiency, minimise heat loss and reduce usage of gas.
- Continual phased upgrades of LED lighting in stands and associated areas.
- All new renovation projects are to supply LED lighting as a minimum.
- Upgrade of floodlights in 2021 to reduce electricity usage.
- The new training ground is built to BREEAM standards and has energy efficient under-pitch heating.
Sustainable Transport
- Public transport (tube/train and bus) to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium and the club’s training ground is promoted on the website.
- Only provides a very limited number of parking spaces at the stadium.
- The club will endeavour to minimise the use of private vehicles through education and publicised policies and will look to invest in electric vehicles as an option for future fleet renewals.
Single Use Plastic Reduction/Removal
- The club implemented BioPak’s 100% compostable hot cups.
Waste Management
- Reduction targets are in place to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill while also increasing the quantity of waste that is recycled.
- At the training ground, the club is committed to increasing the level of waste that is recycled by;
- Separation of general waste, plastics, cardboard, glass, and food waste.
- Ensuring any old equipment is donated and reused where possible.
- Elimination of single use materials and plastics where possible.
- Compliance with BREEAM standards as part of construction and ongoing maintenance.
Water Efficiency
- The new training ground has rainwater harvesting systems for use in the grounds maintenance building.
- Undertook a full water audit in 2019 to identify any wastage and managed to introduce savings from this audit. Thames Water agreed to install water saving devices in all concourse and hospitality toilets.

- Introduced additional vegetarian options across all food kiosks in 2022.

Communication and Engagement
- Held a Premier League Inspires ‘Dragons Den’ event at Loftus Road Stadium with a focus on positively impacting climate change. The PL inspires groups were set the task of producing a social action plan to improve environmental sustainability alongside their local club. First-teamer Luke Amos and B team defender Elijah Anthony acted as ‘dragons’ for the afternoon and judged the groups.
- Participated in Planet League’s ‘Planet League Cup’ competition.
- Under-23 players Brandon Aveiro, Dillon De Silva and Sinclair Armstrong engaged with local schools who were set the task to produce a social action plan to improve sustainability at the club. The winning idea was a ‘QPR Recyclers League’ initiative for the R’s faithful to get involved in at W12 on a matchday.
