
Nikkei: J.League to hold club competition as a measure against global warming; first Asian club to participate in international league.
The J.League has begun an initiative to quantify and rank each club’s efforts to combat climate change. Since January, they have been participating in the Sports Positive League (SPL), an organization comprised of football leagues from multiple countries. This marks a step forward in the Japanese sports world, which has lagged behind in addressing global warming.
