Education
- Each staff member can allocate one day per year to Everton in the Community, to work on schemes that are based around sustainability and environmental issues, often on community schemes that benefit those in need of support or help
- This year’s Premier League enterprise challenge is for schools to create a social action project to help address environmental sustainability at Everton Football Club. We have 5 schools taking part and a total of 7 teams. Each team will present their idea to a panel of judges. The winning team will represent Everton and compete against the other community organisations.
- We have created three forest schools in our partner Primary Schools to provide outdoor learning environments for the pupils, with 1 more left to complete. A lot of the materials used to build the schools have been taken from builders who would have put the materials in a skip, therefore we have repurposed a lot of waste. The U23 team and staff have all given up their time to help this project happen
- NCS Participants have fundraised, bought and collected food for the Blue Base Food Pantry, then volunteered their time to help run the pantry. This was in line with food poverty challenge set by local Metro Mayor, Steve Rotherham

- All our fruit and veg is locally sourced, from Ribble Farm in the Ribble Valley
- A third-party supplier handbook outlines the club’s procurement policy, which includes service provisions, fair/living wages, ethical matters, human rights, social responsibility (diversity) and environmental responsibility and sustainability
- On seeing the document Sport Positive queried that this appears to relate to the new stadium only, and asked it it was across all goods and services. The response was that it is difficult to say just a ‘yes’, as we have many existing agreements in place and there is a concerted effort to reduce waste, lower single use plastics, etc.
- IN THE INTERESTS OF FAIRNESS WE HAVE NOT ALLOCATED 2 POINTS FOR THIS AS WE HAVEN’T SEEN EVIDENCE OF SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT (ENVIRONMENTAL, ETHICAL AND SOCIAL, ACROSS ALL GOODS AND SERVICES)
