Clean/Renewable Energy

• Mainz declared themselves the first carbon-neutral football club in the Bundesliga after transitioning to 100% renewable energy through their partnership with energy provider Entega

Sustainable Transport

• Mainz 05 promotes the arrival of fans by public transport. • Fan survey carried out in 2020 which asked supporters what mode of transport they take to games

Waste Management

• Plans for the 21/22 season: Collect towel paper in a separate container and recycle into new towel paper in cooperation with the company SCA.

Water Use

• Mainz 05 water efficiency initiatives include waterless urinals in the main stand, control system for the flush (magnetic control) for the urinals in all other stands to reduce water consumption

Plant based/low carbon food

• At this moment vegan food is only offered at the stadium but they do try to increase the demand of vegan and vegetarian food by including young innovators to find attractive incentives
